My Scholarship entry - Telling a story

There are two things that I love to do, taking photographs and travelling and discovering new places. For me, photography started out as a hobby. I love it! It's a way to share with others how I see the world that surrounds me. I'm also an archaeologist, an animal lover, and a little bit crazy and a happy person. I have been so lucky to have the chance to travel to several places in Guatemala, my home country, and meet people, share life experiences, see the world through somebody else's eyes. I can say that in each corner of the world there is something or somebody waiting to be photographed, waiting to tell a story.

I want my photographs to make people understand that we don't live inside a bubble, because there is a whole universe out there, of people and living beings waiting to tell their story.

If I'm chosen it would be a great opportunity for me to learn from somebody that knows so well how to tell a story through his photographs. It would be a great opportunity to meet people from other cultures, discover new places, and have an opportunity that would change my life and my career.

The world needs more photographers to share with others the stories of the world.
