I like to take photos to show events to people who do not have access to them and so create a conscience.I am from Uruguay.At the age of 5 I moved to Chile where I had my first contact with film and photography thanks to my parent's video store.At 16 my father gave me his old camera.At 20 I moved to Buenos Aires to study film and spent most of my time walking the streets taking photos.I now live in Sydney where I finished studies in Photography/Photojournalism.In 2012 I created Cinema Social Club- a travelling cinema in South America with the aim to provide entertainment/ideas to communities who do not have access to world film.Photography was a big part of this as it let me document the project– the landscapes, people I met, their culture and stories.Through it, I tried to understand and show the stories I saw, because they deserve to be heard.I feel that this opportunity would bring me to a new world and closer to my purpose of being a photographer.I never had a mentor, and this could teach me so much for my career.More so, I feel I would return a better photographer not only for myself, but for having the ability to tell a story in the best and most responsible way possible.
