The Glitter and the Guts My personal recount of a journey of a lifetime.

Ever since I started traveling by myself five years ago I knew my dream job was to have my own travel show. It felt like a childish pursuit until I found this site in December and realized my dreams could have actually been attained, but unfortunately I had already missed the deadline for Brazil's scholarship. After days of feeling sorry for myself for not chasing my dreams any sooner, I decided nothing was stopping me then. Two months later I found myself in Rio uncovering the carnival in my own way. I was inspired by this very site!

This was the first video I ever shot, edited, and presented in. I went with no help and relied on those I met along the way to help with the scenes I was in. Since then I've shot and edited two other travel videos in a similar fashion, working as a waitress to support my travels.

I strive to chase my dreams endlessly as I create content that walks the line between entertainment and investigative journalism. I want to inspire and educate others as I push my own boundaries as a filmmaker and presenter. This scholarship would mean the world to me as it would help to provide me with the proper exposure and tools to achieve what I've worked so hard for.
