The Tribe and the Tamaraw (My Scholarship Entry)
Philippines | Monday, June 3, 2013 | 5 photos
Working for National Geographic has always been my dream. The little stack of yellow magazines beside my bed is my portal into other eras, into other worlds.
I'm a masteral student and environmentalist from the Philippines and my dream is to make the world better through words and pictures. With luck, the little stack of yellow magazines beside my bed might someday feature my own adventures and photos - enough hopefully, to inspire a fresh generation of story tellers and world-changers.

For this trip, I'd like you to join me in a magical quest to find and photograph the Tamaraw - Earth's rarest and most elusive wild buffalo - in the rugged and rebel-infested mountains of Mindoro in the Philippines.
Along the way, we'll also meet the indigenous Batangan Mangyan tribe - safekeepers of the Tamaraw and the productive mountain habitats they call home.
Are you ready? Let's go!
