Story of my life... literally

It's all about the snow!

Yup, it really is. The first couple of weeks in Wanaka saw frosts you could almost ski on and little sign of a cracker season. However the tables are slowly turning and each morning bares yet another sweet sweet dusting on the scenic landscape that I live within.

Working at the Oakridge spa resort cleaning toilets does actually have perks such as unlimited soaking of achy mountain muscles and discount massage, but the 75% cut in wages since Melbourne sure is a bit of a kick in the stomach! Lucky we are doing pretty well running Mum and Dad's holiday home as backpacker accommodation to foreigners far and wide. We have an english couple and two lovely girlies from England and Ireland, and soon a mad french skiier, here with us for the season. Along with that we have had some fantastic travellers such as a pom/kiwi couple - Shelley and Joe, a Botswanian boho called Zoom, and a gorgeous clan of Irish hippies. Surely there are many more to come in the two months remaining.

Our friends Ash and Kiki (who kept me sane, or, insane at CSL in Melbourne), as well as Nick's sister Jamie came over for a weekend. Luging in Queenstown was a laugh...

and the views were spectacular...

and was finished off nicely with a cool (literally) cocktail at the Minus 5 ice bar on the Steamer warf.

We had a great time taking the girls to the snow, and Ash proved great entertainment for us all hehe haha. As did Puzzling World!

so yup, we've been having stacks of fun, so feel free to come join us! xx
