My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

There's one photo I've taken that based on feedback from my peers, I would consider my best work. Not necessarily an incredible photo in and of itself, but what you don't know is that it took twelve days of trekking in the bitter cold at elevations over 17,000ft to capture that one moment. Exceptional travel photography begins with commitment and preparation; it's that willingness to 'get the shot' that I believe ultimately culminates in compelling storytelling. Conviction, attitude and the ability to laugh at myself are the drivers that have helped me pursue my dream of becoming a successful photographer.
I'm a student of finance and spent my first few years working in the investment banking industry. I left to pursue adventure and photography, become a diving instructor, climber, rafting guide and captain in the process. What drives me and where I could gain the most from learning with a professional like Jason Edwards in Oman, is in the ability to discretely and poignantly tell a story through my work. I want the chance to engage with the best, learn, develop and ultimately tell a photographic story that challenges perceptions and causes people to act to conserve our world.
