The beauty of Britain

United Kingdom | Wednesday, July 3, 2013 | 5 photos

My Mother has a great sense of style, particularly with jewellery. She even invested in tools so she can make her own, creating beautiful pieces from precious stones and crystal. Unfortunately, when I tried to make jewellery with her, it ended with us arguing because I had inadvertently used all of the (very expensive) beads she had just bought, and had created something that wouldn’t sell at a car boot sale. Needless to say, I haven’t inherited her gift with beads. But, a few years ago, I came across a creative outlet which fit me: Photography. I have been passionate about it ever since. I am also an avid traveller, and am fortunate to have visited so many beautiful places around the world. I prefer to avoid tourist spots and seek places off the beaten track, so to visit such a remote, magnificent place, whilst being mentored by such a talented photographer, would be a dream come true.
I am confident in some areas of photography and do believe I have an eye for finding beauty, but I definitely have so much to learn, particularly with larger scale photography and landscapes. I cannot imagine a more stunning place to learn this than Greenland. What an opportunity.
