My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I always have this intense fascination towards photography. Aside from creative writing, it is the only field of study that tickled my interest and imagination way back in college. But like most people, the intensity of my attraction did match my will to explore its intricacies; hence my yearning would drift away at some point or another, only to resurface when an inspiration presents itself.
My entry does not only exemplify my hopes of getting that once in a lifetime opportunity to be mentored by a distinguished travel photographer, it is also a culmination several years of battling procrastination.
I always tell my daughter to take time to listen to the promptings of that voice inside her urging her to go about every inclination and every goal no matter how trivial and insignificant they may appear in the eyes of others. During our long talks, I painted a depressing picture of having to live with what ifs’ and if onlys' later in life.
My decision now to do something about my own unfinished business with photography liberates me from the same scenario. Even at 42 - that is. Most importantly, I will finally get the chance to back my teachings and reminders with action.
