About goswamipiyush
In 2010, I decided to dedicate my life to thought/philosophy and understanding different media of expression or art. I wanted to try and live a life -- where work is life and life is work. This was after having gone through an engineering college and later tasting the bitterness of the corporate world for two years. Soon, I realised that I didn't belong where I found myself to be.
As Khalil Gibran very aptly puts it "They deem me mad because I won't sell my days for gold, and I deem them mad because they think my days are for sale". Growing up, I always saw people debating and fighting over what is right and wrong. That stuck with me. Today, comprehending life seem to be at the crux of who I find myself being. To live, experience, understand, evolve and express is what I am trying to do through different media of art and expression.
In 2012, I did my first official photo/musical/written documentary project on winter life in Himalayan and trans Himalayan regions of India including some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Ladakh titled 'The Himalayan Winter'. 'Audio Units', an electronic musical act from Bangalore composed an ambient/experimental/electronic album for this project working with the field recordings that I had from my one month long journey. Here, I wanted to merge different genres and create an audio-visual project.
Likewise, as a part of another collaboration, I designed the cover art for Vinayak^a 's debut album titled 'Lonesome Train' which released in 2012. My latest project which is yet to come out is based on a month long experience I had at the Kumbh Mela during January and February of 2013. There are some interesting collaborations, musical and otherwise in the pipe line for this project. It should be out by the end of this year.
My aim is to bring different forms of arts together and arrange them in interesting and unique ways to make them socially relevant. Art with a message is the best kind of art according to me.
