I took these pictures during Teej, Teej is one of the biggest festivals of Hindu and women celebrate this festival for longevity of tier husband's life. During this festival woman fast for a day and worship lord Shiva; another unique thing about this festival is that all women wear red sharee (Indian/Nepal traditional dress) to signify that they are married.
Pic 1: It is the picture of Pashupati temple, one of the holiest places for any Hinduism followers. It is situated in Kathmandu, Nepal. Thousands of worshippers arrives at Pashupati annually from all over Nepal and India as well to worship lord Shiva ,who is also known as god of gods.
Pic 2: Women queuing in lines to worship lord Shiva for longevity of their husband’s life
Pic 3: Hanuman, a monkey god who is symbolized as power and strength
Pic4: in right, we can see women queuing to worship lord Shiva; in left, we can see cremation .In this picture I found the bittersweet combination of life where some women are asking god for longevity of their spouse life whereas some had lost their spouse. Later when I reached near the cremation place, I found that woman to be very young with children’s of 9 and 12 years old. As I was not allowed to take picture over there, missed an opportunity to show the bitter aspect of life.

I am passionate about traveling and photography, I want to be an explorer and explore different aspect of life all around the world. Whenever I have time, I take my camera and bike and go around clicking places and people. Even though I was born and raised here I still find my place mystical and unexplored. By profession I am an aeronautical engineer and currently working in domestic airline in Nepal.
