An adventure to sunset

After a day of touristic activities around a beautiful sunny Lisbon, my Portuguese egg tart filled belly wasn’t quite ready to end the day.
Instead of heading back to my hostel, I decided to go explore back up the iconic hills in search of a spot to take in sunset.
After many inclining winding roads I came to an amazing spot overlooking the ocean. That wasn't the good part though, my view also included a house that a group of about ten 18-25 year old guys were climbing and jumping off, balancing on rods, and doing flips. I stared in awe, wondering what they were doing and where they were headed with their Gopro's and expensive cameras.
After a few minutes I heard one of the guys yell to everyone "Come on, we need to get to the next spot or we’ll miss sunset!"
I was in. It was obvious that was where I needed to go.
I decided to not be so introverted and ask where they were going and if I could tag along. He kindly said yes and I headed up many more winding roads with a group of guys from all over the world that I’ve never met to apparently the best spot for sunset in all of Lisbon!
One of my favorite things about Lisbon is all of the small cobble stone roads throughout the hills. The streets not only hold charm but they’re truly artistic with the authentic tiles on buildings and stunning street art, exploring throughout I was never dulled.
As far as the guys, I found out they were here for a Parkcore competition, an adrenaline pumping sport; and have been exploring Lisbon for new spots to practice.
After a heart pumping trek to the highest point in the hills, we landed in a spot overlooking all of Lisbon, the Golden Gate-esque bridge and the other side of Lisbon across the water. There were other people at this breathtaking spot, but the majority of them seemed to be locals. It was amazing, and I would’ve never found it on my own. I felt like I hit the jackpot.
Before the sun started going down I watched and helped photograph them walk a barrier along the edge of the cliff, and do handstands and back flips off of it. They certainly attracted a crowd, which terrified everyone watching them do these stunts in such a vulnerable place, but they seemed to be unphased by the obvious risk of death.
We all sat on the edge of the cliff as the sun started to go down, and when it got dark, the guys safely escorted me down the unlit streets to the main road.
As far as the sunset, the best I've ever seen.
What I learned was be open-minded and follow the locals
