the mausoleum of Hadrian also known as Castel Sant'Angelo is a towering cylindrical building in Rome originally built for Hadrian and his family as a mausoleum. The urns and ashes were destroyed by looters during the sack of Rome in 410. Now it serves as a museum

Our last day in Rome!  A little sad to leave.  We took the bus in to town to have our last gelato but before that we caught a few rays by the pool.  Paid 130 euros for 6 nights and got our passports back.  Angie is packing and Im making dinner.........focatia sliced with procuitto, grana padano and a few baked potatoes.......a real Italiano meal.  We walked down to Castel Sant' Angelo by the Tiber, checked out some more shops then finally got back at 7 pm.........This journey has been another sucess in our book of travel.  We got the most out of everyday and were wise enough to rest and reflect on the daily experiences.  A great journey that we will remember for years to come.........tomorrow up at 6am to take the airport shuttle.....our plane to Canada leaves @ 12.30
