My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I clearly remember the day I first held a photo camera in my hands. I was five. Dad quickly realized I had talent and by the time I was six, I was proud owner of my first photo camera.
Both photography and traveling have been my passion since I am a child. I'm curious, ever-hungry for new ways to capture this blue-green earth and the colorful cultures living on this planet.
I have a degree in Cultural Studies (2009). I focused on cultures, writing and languages. My thesis was about "The Tourist Gaze", a gaze that I always captured through the lens of my camera.
I traveled over 25 countries but all my travel photos have only reached the outside world through social media like Facebook. It is my dream to make photography my career; to contribute to the wonderful world of National Geographic Photography and present this vibrant world through my eyes.
The chance to travel with renowned photographer Jason Edwards to a beautiful and inspiring country like Oman, would be the opportunity of a lifetime to learn about photography and moving towards my career goal of becoming one of the world's best travel photographers.
