My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Sunday, June 2, 2013 | 5 photos
My name is Garvin, aged 25 and photography is my new found passion. From humble happy snaps with a basic digital camera, I’ve finally taken the step this year to learn to use the manual features on a entry level camera. I feel that it has given me a new meaning to live to capture my most precious moments and in the process the world around me too.
Nature and humans are increasingly being misplaced from each other. I feel that there is a detachment in our sense of well being. This can be shown both in a human’s eyes and in animals. I hope the photo essay presents the raw emotions questioning intellect, purpose and fulfillment in life in nature and the built environment.
I feel that this opportunity offered by World Nomads to learn from Jason, a true nature photographer will be a simply unique and enriching experience for me to get a glimpse of a new photography style, access to a new culture and to make a new friend. I can also offer a skill set of having a dedicated work ethic, being an early riser from construction engineering, an organized individual and a fast learner - attributes I believe that will be crucial to this photography adventure.
