Ingredients
Fillet of pork
cumin
salt
sour cream
chives
Potato
How to prepare this recipeMatinate the pork fillet in olive oil salt and cumin.
Wrap potato on foil and bake to make a jacket potato.
Mix chives and sour cream with seasoning.
oven roast fillet until just cooked and serve with sourcream and jacket potato
The story behind this recipeWe arrived in the Black Forest late at night and soaked through (well...i was dry! We were travelling by motor
bike and sidecar ). After drying out in our 'pension ' we were told most places were closed of whcih there
were only 3 anyway! We were half way up a mountain surrounded by forestry.
Our hosts neighbours insisted they drive us and pick us up to and from the steak house which wad another
mile climb up the road. Inside was dimly lit and adorned with horns and hunting trophies of
diferent kinds. A fabulous cabin of a restaurant with the most welcoming people I've met.
Simple but delicious , the pork was tasty,fresh and tender, served on a wooden board carved
from the surroundings.
The sour cream just perfect to balance the slight spice from the cumin.
I will allways remember the simplicity of the food and service that made such a difference to some very
cold and hungry travellers
