We know for a fact that the occupation began approximately 2,000 B.C and it took the Maya approximately 3,000 years, from 2,000 B.C to approximately 900 A.D., they carefully develop the arts of their civilization. They learnt to make and fire clay-pot; they build observatories from which they studied the movement of the sun, the moon, and the planets. From this process they develop their 365 days calendar; they had a well established system of government.
The intrigue of this great civilization that dominated Central America for centuries, just to fall mysteriously into oblivion, creates its own captivating atmosphere as one approaches the magnificent Ceremonial Centers.
