Hello,

My name is Giannis Kritikos. I am from Greece and I am studying at Technical University of Crete. I took my first photo when I was 2 years old. I was ‘lucky’ because my father was a photographer, which lead to start learning about photography from a very young age. I even got my first camera when I was 4 years old and I was taking photos all the time... From the other side, my father quit photography as a job when I was born so as to spend more time with me. I remember when I was younger we used to travel a lot. He liked traveling and taking photos. So this is my dream now! To travel around the world and learn as much about photography as possible. It was his dream that was inherited to me, as well as his favorite lens (manual 50mm) which I am using almost always, even at some of the photographs I submitted. This is the reason I am entering the competition. I think it is beyond my dreams the opportunity to travel to Oman with an experienced photographer. The feeling is something I can’t really describe in letters, as all these years I learned to describe the feeling through the lens and I think this is what I do best.
