My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Many say a picture is worth 1000 words, but to me it’s worth so much more. My love began when I first picked up a camera 8 years ago. Though my first few tries were terrible, I really feel like my passion to improve was my drive and bettered my artistic abilities. My creative side blossomed with each photo I took, and I am blessed to have found a talent that lets me feel so alive. My goals with photography are to tell a story without words, to leave a viewer speechless, and most importantly to convey my passion through art. After finding this opportunity, my goals in improving my art suddenly seemed more like an arm’s reach away than reaching for the stars. I know I could improve my technique, and it has always been a dream to work with a professional and submit for National Geographic. I will continue to try. I figured, despite the number of submissions against me, it wouldn’t hurt to reach for the stars for once. I know to improve as an artist I must take risks, face failure, and try twice as hard the next time. This would be an extremely beneficial opportunity. It would put me one major step closer to my dream. Thank you for viewing my work. I am grateful for the opportunity.
