Honeymoon in Georgia

My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 5 photos

I do understand, how poor is the chance to get lucky in this competition and still I cannot give up the presentiment that this is the field where I could do my best:)

My name is Victoria Vaisvilaite Skirutiene, I am Lithuanian. I have a university degree in history and I’m studying psychology now. I run beauty salon and make-up school business in my home town Klaipeda. For more than ten years already I am known as make-up artist. I love colors, I feel harmony of forms and proportions, but most of all I love people. Photography has always been by my side. Eventually I discovered, that even more than wakening up faces with my brushes I am passionate of revealing people in their portraits. I do believe, that if I put all my experience and competence together, I could become an inspirational travel photographer. And I kept saying to my friends and family for the last few years – one day I will get an assignment from National Geography, you’ll see. I will travel, I’ll meet people and I will be really good at telling their stories and spreading inspiration.

“Honeymoon in Georgia” is a story of two young people Edita and Karolis who went to celebrate their union to Georgia. As they are backpackers, this is the way they decided to celebrate their wedding. I was excited to record Georgia through their curious, loving, adventure thirsty eyes.
