“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” -St. Augustine
Well said, St. Augustine. The world is indeed like a book.
However, being a part of the post-modern era, one can give a little nudge to our dear old saint by saying that the world is rather more like a newspaper now. Before, the world was in a rather solid state. That is to say, seldom changing, each part having distinctive characteristics and so on.
In more recent days, however, such is not the case. Now, the world is constantly going through different phases every second. So just visiting and seeing various places around the world does not hold the same sentiment as it did in the days of St. Augustine. Now, we must stay vigilant in order to march ahead and witness the scenes of history by visiting such ‘statuses’ rather than such ‘places’ when we have the chance.
In that sense, I am a person who tries to follow such traits of the modern man. Through this scholarship, I would like to once again succeed in living in my belief. Being a photography-lover, I would like to go to Oman with you guys to learn the way to document history and also experience the current status of the region.
