My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Pakistan | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | 4 photos
During a 2011 trip to Pakistan, I realized my passion of telling important stories of places, people and nature through photography-to help viewers care just a little more about our planet, the wildlife and cultures that inhabit it. Watching how they met the challenges of living in such a harsh landscape, I was inspired to share their stores through photographs.
I am a trained archaeologist and biologist. Besides travel, I am also passionate about ancient history and the natural world. My goal is to work for National Geographic magazine. This scholarship would be a vital stepping stone on the path to realizing that dream.
I have spent the past two year building my travel photography portfolio and seeking out mentors to learn from. This scholarship would give me the opportunity to make my dreams a reality, while helping lay a strong foundation for a life-long career as a travel photographer. Mentoring from Jason would let me learn from someone who does the exact kind of work that I wish to do. The exposure this opportunity gives me would help me launch a career as a travel photographer.
