London - Iii The London Journal - images of everyday rituals. People during their short break at work, people during work, architecture, by night and from top. Things that you cannot miss if you spend a few days there and observe the people and the city.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

United Kingdom | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

My name is Gelly Papalouca and I have worked for several years in the digital marketing industry.

Subsequent to a few seminars and personal projects, photography became of great significance while looking to expand my creative interests.

When organizing a trip or a sailing activity with my friends, my priority is to plan my photo shoot. Whenever I take pictures I challenge myself; how to capture meaningful shots, how to fit/create a story and express my personal viewpoint. Hence, I love that photography stimulates the human brain and expands general knowledge by researching on the ‘subject’.

When evaluating a project, the emotional effects of satisfaction and dissatisfaction are very strong. I become eager to learn more, relearn technical elements and behaving as a photographer.

Winning this competition means to obtain the unprecedented experience of a new culture, the excitement of any forthcoming adventures and essentially to ‘live’ as a professional photographer and learn new aspects of photography.

To conclude, photography is my new ‘communication tool’ looking to create meaningful images with respect to countries and cultures within and out of their community.
