We decided to intertwine our lives with those of the fearless fishermen, who go miles and hours into looming seawaters, braving sun, storms and sometimes endless blackness. We had to quench our thirst and spend a day walking in their shoes, or rather, sailing in their boats.
Graduating together in Communicative Studies from Mount Carmel’s College in Bangalore, Geetika went to Kingston University, London for an MA in filmmaking and Meghana acquired a diploma in filmmaking from New York Film Academy.
We now live together and work separately in Mumbai, the hub of Bollywood. Our travel film was shot in a coastal village named Wadrai, a 3 hour drive from the city. We were the first ever females to have traversed the seawaters with the fishermen, as something like this is unconventional for the womenfolk there.
On our hedonistic pursuit of eclectic journeys, we’re always on the lookout for new places to explore and people to encounter. The scholarship will be the perfect opportunity to combine our two big loves – travel and filmmaking. We like to make every experience unique and every moment count. We love to tell the extraordinary stories behind our seemingly ordinary reality.
