My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have interest in photography since I was in University. Now I already left university for 4 years and joined as a staff in research and development department of one of private company. I try my best to save my monthly salary, so I could travel somewhere to a place which affordable with my tight budget.

In 2012, I participated in Geliat Jakarta Photo Competition which held by Geliat Indonesia (www.geliatindonesia.com). I submitted one of my photograph about Jakarta. The title of my photo was 'Jakarta Rest Area'. Surprisingly, that photo selected as one of 100 best photos within thousands photographs which submitted for this competition. I got the money around less than $30 for this, small amount but meaning big for me as amateur. This moment ignites my eagerness more in photography.

I prefer to capture landscape rather than street photography with human as an object. Why? Because I ever been scolded by one of the people that I've been photographed. He didn't want someone capture what was he doing. Joining this scholarship, perhaps I will get another idea about not only taking a great picture but also taking the moment of living things (read: human) without being scolded
