My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Gavin Henry, I'm 18 yrs old and live in Glasgow. I have always liked photography, always looking at the details everyone ignores. I've always had a curious mind...what that person was doing. One thing I've been really wanting to do is have a real adventure and a learning experience to go out to somewhere for one sole purpose: to take pictures. For the last 2 years, I've been working as a mechanic apprentice. Learning off another more experienced person and interpreting it into my own technique. Trying and failing in different techniques has taught me that experience means a lot. I would use this opportunity to absorb guidance from someone who's been in the field for years. My plan is to finish this course and go out into the world and use it to help take pictures and that won't be easy. My great great Uncle took pictures of the landscapes of the Americas when a new generation of photographers were able to capture images of these landscapes multiple times a day. And I would like to be part of the new generation of travel photographers. My pictures aren't as dramatic, but i'd hope you can see the thought behind them. Thank you for considering me.
