My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am Gary Collins, a 27 year old accountant, Irish dancer and photography enthusiast. I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries with an Irish dance show. With each new location came a thirst for local knowledge and a want to capture this. Being a dancer I was always creating new sounds and movements with my feet and this fell into place in a different format with photography. I would wander the streets looking to create an image that would help me feel the movement and hear the sounds of the area each time I looked at them.
This was no different when I travelled to Taipei, Taiwan where these photos were taken. These for me show the emotions and feelings the city gave me. The cramped and chaotic life of the scooter rider to the socialising and bargaining of the night markets, while all the time being only 5 minutes from the forest and its monkey trails.
I am lucky enough to have a once in a lifetime 4 month trip around South East Asia planned, which I will be departing on at the end of March. I feel at this stage in my life a tutorial with Jason Edwards would be invaluable in helping me create a photographic record of these travels and adventures.
