Lives Lived
How many ways are there to live a life?
About gardennymph
I feel the most alive at the intersection of cross cultural interaction. I have a passion for travel and a passion for writing though at this point I haven't written for a wider audience than for the sheer pleasure of keeping contact with and entertaining family and friends. I've always been praised that I am "a good writer" and that I "have a way with words" by educators, family, and friends but I've been slow to begin working specifically at a travel writing career... though it is my deepest desire. It is the thing I would do if I knew I were dying and had only a few moments left on earth: I would travel and I would write feverishly.
Things that I love: Avocado; a baby howler monkey's sucking and cooing gremlin noises; pink toes of kittens purring; general contentment; a perfect bonfire; Mid-West Great Lakes; earthworms; Pacific Ocean; fog; stars; mountains; elusive jungle chickens; techno music set to urban and rural imagery; grinning dogs; roots; community; family; home-made; holding hands; dew; steel gray skies framing Fall colors; extra u's in UK words; mediation as the journey of consensus getting past the stubborn principle; Onsen; hot showers; discovering simple deeper truths after a small amount of focused attention, for example, after dark roasted espresso coffee became a habit I discovered I actually favor vanilla, honey, cinnamon, cardimum, clove spices; I also favor tangy citrus over chocolate; room temperature water without ice and all things that take cultivation, time and effort. If I were to write a book it would be titled something like, "Oh To Dance On My Tongue! and other mediation's from the unconventionally educated."
