Hey Cow

My Video scholarship 2010 entry

AUSTRALIA | Thursday, 29 July 2010 | Views [268] | Scholarship Entry

‘Hey Cow’ is a documentary which explores the locals in Australia. According to Meat and Livestock Australia, there are 27.3 million cattle in an industry worth over $12 billion. With more cows than people, I decided that cattle could definitely be considered locals within Australia.

I didn’t have any footage of previous trips, and wasn’t able to jet set overseas to film a documentary, so instead I decided to explore something a little closer to home. However, my fear of cows quickly became the focus of the documentary. My logic is that if I can overcome my intense fear of cows, I can face any challenges thrown my way.

My ultimate dream job is to travel the world making documentaries, sharing the lives and stories of people from remote places of the world with people across the globe. I want to make documentaries that are interesting and accessible to a wide range of people while also creating awareness of subject matters often left unspoken of, or unexplored.
