My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Petros Pantazis, online I mostly go by the name of Garret. I am currently finishing my University Degree on Cultural Technologies, a weird mix of cultural studies and new media/technologies. Other interests of mine include videogames (I write reviews of games in a greek website), sailing and sketching. Photography has been a passion for me since a very young age, I remember my first camera was a fischer price one that had holes for both eyes for the viewfinder. Photography is a very important part of my life, it has helped me preserver of places and people, it has been a creative outlet that I can express myself and it has been a way for me to make new friends. Most importantly though, photography for me has been an excuse to go have new experiences and make new memories. It's not about the gear, the photoshopping afterwords or the specific techniques (although I enjoy learning new stuff and I sometimes dream of having a great camera), it's about seeing the world and it's people and have adventures that will be great memories for a lifetime.
