My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

well first things first, my name is Darren Hill. i reside in Adelaide in the south of Australia. i bought my first dslr a few years back for the purpose of photographing mates around the race track and progressed from there experimenting with different lenses and environments around me.
One of my favorite parts of photography is macro lenses and the ability they have to capture details that you would never see with the usual quick glance that is given to most things. This is why i would learn a great deal from Jason Edwards as his photos capture the detail and moments that if you blink you would never see. This is why i love photography, it gives the photographer a chance to show what he sees to those that sometimes dont even give the slightest thought to what that little bug in the corner may look like if you get up close and personal or that moment your camera embeds an image of sun at first light coming over snow capped mountains on to that little memory card for you to share what you discover at the hope some one gets inspired to do the same.
