My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

as many people get to explore the big wide wonderful earth, i have not yet made that adventurous step, into another country nor set foot in an airport to find my internal self worth..

my photos are from no further then 15 paces from where i sit, down the stairs, through the door , under the tree is where i used to sit...household animals, flying critters and my brothers crumpled up litter, found in abundance through my lens, i shall shoot till i make amends...

this would be one wonderful journey to be apart of, i hope that i am just looked at once and that my photos catch your eye and make you wonder what i could do if i wasn't in my backyard but in South Africa following some amazing photographers and equally amazing locals and snapping up thousands of photos which would be imprinted on my mind for ever.

the set of photos are from my back yard using my old camera and standard lens kit for my Olympus including the basic macro lens. following some blowflys around and stalking out other tiny insects like there my prey trying to get that one shot to show a different side of that annoying fly or delicate butterfly. i have owned a camera for 2 years now mostly photographing Motorsport from my local track and a few bmx parks around the place along with dragging my camera to every trip around my state, no matter how big or small.

i hope that i am considered for this scholarship as i see it as an amazing way to get into one of my dream fields of work and to finally get that foot on a plane and start exploring.
