Children of ladies who make jewelry from shards of ceramic broken by tsunami. My group of 4 ladies plus one Guy from an LA team watched the kids since the women could not afford day care. These ladies only make $8.00an hour with the Nozomi project. Most jobs are seasonal like shucking oysters or fish packing. This is one job where the women can work during the day while the Kids are in school and leave to pick up kids right as school gets out. We were able to use crafts given by a friend and crafts from my church leftover from previous vacation Bible schools.

Mr. Sudan who made all these beautiful crafts, purses.and other accessories. He was s very genial Guy and showef us his kasetsu (temporary. Housing). He shared how he lost his wife in the tsunami and how Joseph recently renovated house wad totally destroyed. His home is a small area either a frightened and washer in the foyer and 3 rooms about 8x10' in size in a mobile trailer occupied by two other families.

Evening sharing by a LA team member from Palos Verde Baptist church. Every few days new people come to stay at the volunteer house. They may come for a week or just days. The volunteers come from the largest town of Sendai or further but most are Christians serving the coastal areas that got damaged. There are so many organizations trying to help the people and spread the Gospel that it is hard to keep track of all of them but they try to share their needs and the volunteers.
