Qutub Shahi Tombs

India | Sunday, January 6, 2013 | 5 photos

A software engineer by profession, I was hooked to photography as soon as I picked up my first camera in June 2011. And, the world was never the same again for me! Photography opened my eyes to things which I believed never existed. It gives me sheer joy in capturing the moments and telling stories involving life, people, cultures, landscapes, happiness, sadness, and a million other things. Photography helped me to evolve and grow as a person, to be present in the moment, to be more considerate of people, cultures, environment, and to appreciate all the small and big wonders of the world that we live in. A picture is indeed a thousand words, and yet, sometimes even a thousand words are less to describe a picture. Being a beginner in photography, I have a long road of relentless learning and practice ahead of me to make my pictures speak a thousand words.

My new found love for photography encourages me to learn and know more and more in the short life I have. Winning this scholarship means a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to Oman and to learn from a person like Jason Edwards. I believe this can do wonders for a novice like me both as a photographer and as a person.
