Travel and Twerk

Hi,

My name is Mads, I’m a young Dane currently studying in Sydney. I have always been curious. I like to replace fear of the unknown with curiosity, and I think my urge to explore places and meet new people is one of the main reasons why I dream about a future in documentary production. My efforts are also motivated by a passion for story telling and creating cinematic images. I like documentaries that manage to open my eyes to the various types of lifestyle, and the documentaries that portray cultural diversity and social justice.

My contribution for this scholarship is about a person, who really inspires me to travel. She is a friend that is moving around the world, always driven by the mindset of a true adventurer.

This scholarship would be an amazing opportunity for me, since I could learn so much from Brian Rapsey. His ability to be “a fly on the wall” is very inspiring. I admire his direct style of filming in the middle of the action, for example in “Red Flame Hunters”. I would be humble and extremely grateful if I was given the chance to join Brian and go to Colombia to create a narrative about one of the local the communities. With Brian as a mentor I would improve all of my skills, and some day be able to give his advice and teaching to other up-coming documentarists.
I believe that persistence, having fun and always trying to learn more is the way to go. I wish to travel the world with a camera, and hopefully I can do it for a living some day.
