Passport & Plate - "Tsvetaeva's" apple pie


Ingredients
Ingredients:

For the dough
butter - 150 g,
sour cream - 0.5 cups,
Flour - 1-2 cups,
baking powder - 1.5 teaspoons

for sour cream filling
sour cream - 1 cup
sugar - 1 cup
egg - 1 pc,
vanilla sugar - 1 teaspoon
flour - 2 tablespoons

for the filling
apples - 3-4 pieces (~ 500-600 g)

Dough –
Melt butter and cool a bit. Mix flour with baking powder. Put sour cream and melted butter in a large bowl. Mix until it's a homogeneous mass. Gradually add flour with baking powder and knead the dough.

Filling - wash, dry and cut apples into thin slices.

Sour cream filling - put sour cream in a bowl, add sugar and vanilla sugar, mix it all together. Lightly beat an egg and add into sour cream-sugar mixture. Gradually add flour and stir to avoid lumps. Mix the whole mixture once again.
Spread the dough evenly in baking tin. Put sliced apples on top. Pour the sour cream filling on top of apples, gently shake the from so that filling spreads evenly. You could also sprinkle with cinnamon

Bake an apple pie in pre-heated (180°C) oven for about 50 minutes.

Pie can be served or cooled.

This poem was written by Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva. It’s beautiful poem, isn’t it?
The pie takes its name from famous Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva and her sister. According to the legend, Marina and Anastasia liked organizing literary evening and treated their guests with this baking.
For me, this pie recalls me my childhood, with spring and warmth. At this time, the wonderful time of year, nature is just beginning to wake up: the grass is green and everything is beautiful. The pie has special taste of cream cheese with aromatic flavor of apples.
I vividly remember when I used to wake up early in the Sunday morning, ran into the kitchen because of the aroma of apples and cinnamon, where my mother had already prepared this wonderful pie. Honestly, I think cinnamon is specially created for apples. Little conversation about weather, laughter, story-memories of my parents are precious moments for me - feeling of peace and security.
