My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Macedonia | Monday, July 1, 2013 | 5 photos

Cheap Talks.

As I moved to Macedonia I wanted to develop a project about a country of contradiction, turn my responsibilities into a piece of work. Find the right distance and became a photojournalist. I felt exhausted very quickly and I went out for a walk. I had to think about the idea of work, or of the lack of work, and I finally concluded that some things may take time to resolve. And that it doesn't matter. I decided to leave my camera at home, walk, have chats with locals. When I became interested in their smells, in their stories.. then I start shooting. ‘Photography still involves listening and neither than regular talks of the morning about work, sex, football, families contributes to a good picture.’ told me somebody ‘Simple things and complicated things, the things that matters.’

I’m interested in issues concerning belonging, identity, social inclusion and cohesion, and community regeneration. I document, investigate, interrogate, reframe stories transforming my point of view. My interest in Photography evolved into an interrogation about the status of testimony and responsibility, as well as the more specific field of Photojournalism.

Have the opportunity to spend 10 days working alongside a photographer on-assignment will let me achieve technique and perseverance. Not only Jason’s expertise, but also keeping the daily diary and working through the editorial process on my return will give me the structure of working professional.
