My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I believe I would be a good candidate for this scholarship for many reasons. I love listening and watching people in their everyday environments in new culture settings for me. There is so much to soak in. The smells, the fashion, the mannerisms, food, language...the list goes on! Attention to details many people overlook is my skill set. I thoroughly enjoy taking it all in with my 5 senses and then letting it all out with my pen and a journal.

Snapping photos and writing are two of my greatest passions, next to traveling and meeting new people of new cultures that is. I feel more alive when I am behind a camera then I do when I'm not. I feel more aware of every detail that crosses my path. Many days I don't have my camera I struggle, but remind myself, that its okay to just enjoy my surroundings for me, a little escape to run away to in my mind. I take many memory snapshots that I will never share with a soul.

Winning this scholarship would mean the world to me. It would be a great experience to learn from a seasoned photographer that's been in the business for awhile and seen the many changes as technology has taken over. Its not an easy task to get into the industry as a full time profession, so this would be a small taste that would stick with me for a lifetime.
