My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Sri Lanka | Monday, June 10, 2013 | 5 photos
My Photojournalism studies in Germany strengthened my interest in compelling stories about social grievances as much as economical issues. Following the tradition of humanistic photojournalism I feel committed to concerned photography. Guidance of Jason Edwards will definitely enrich me with ideas to find compositional and technical solutions and improve my specific visual language. Being in transition between my studies and a future as freelance photographer somewhere on this planet the scolarship will provide new insights, refresh my energy and believe in photography as much as it will raise new questions and expand my – not only photographic - horizon. The idea of an exchange with an experienced photographer on this level is simply intriguing. It´s important to seek for new opinions because people with the same photographic socialization wear the same blinders as I do. In addition the professional development that accompanies such an assignment is a perfect benefit at this very point of my career. I would be more than grateful for the opportunity to work in an environment like Greenland for and with Jason Edwards and the magazine that caused and cured my curiosity for the world.
