My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Sunday, September 25, 2011 | 5 photos

Hello
My name is Molla Miheretu. I am a third year tourism student at the University of Adama. I am very much interested in travel related sectors and photographing with a passion to learn about the world. To realize my interest, I am working hard to contribute to the creation of a pure and loving world. Those photos were taken at some of world heritage sites that I have visited. Ethiopia is known for her famine and drought which has masked the true Ethiopia with her 3000 years of history. Ethiopia is home of the cradle of humanity; more than 80 tribes and 200 dialects, whiteness a home of Africa's most untouched and intact culture. Ethiopia owns marvelous topographies, in different climatic conditions that range from 4620 meter above sea level to the hottest place on earth (128 meter) below sea level.
Ethiopia is home of different bird, reptile and mammal species with thousands of endemics out of the total species.

Ethiopia is the first country in Africa to have 9 world Heritage sites registered by the UNESCO but the world didn't know that Ethiopia is endowed with "something from everything"
So, If I were chosen; my sisters, brothers, mothers and fathers in the world would discover the hidden treasure of their world. In addition, my visit to beautiful South Africa will encourage the young generation to think and work on the art of photographing. I, if I became a winner will let me be the one I used to dream of: being somebody to influence communities so that I will introduce the idea of community based tourism and poverty alleviation by using the legacy that worldnomads.com, National geographic Channel and South African Tourism would crown me.
To be mentored by Mr. Jason Edwards is a proud feeling and this will inevitably open my chance to master the art of photography.

Thank you!
