Your Backyard - IN CHOR BAZAAR

INDIA | Wednesday, 6 November 2013 | Views [459] | Comments [3] | Scholarship Entry

A few years back we discovered Chor Bazaar looking for old photographs, telephones, and music records for an Art project. From spare car parts to antiques, furniture, jewelry,Chor Bazaar has something for everyone. Mumbai is going through rapid redevelopment and there are plans to replace parts of this market with modern buildings and malls. We took this opportunity to share our experience of what it means to discover Chor Bazaar and its wonders. There is the story of technology, music, art and an era that has gone by. It is an obsession with becoming part of that history that makes us look for these stories and make them our own.As avid travelers and aspiring documentary filmmakers we have always been interested in collecting stories of the places we visit. We also want to try a more personal way of capturing stories in our work.In line with this we have attempted a home video, self-shot DIY approach to our entry. We hope that in the future we can attempt to evolve a new language of watching, experiencing and making travel films.
We both have an MA in Media Studies and have assisted in a few non-fiction series and art projects.

Hi there,

It looks like there is an error in your video. Please check into it - otherwise we can't watch it.

Thanks
