1) The red leaves of Autumn bring in tourists from all over Japan; meaning peak season for the traditional inns.

3) Located near the Japan Sea coast, this region receives some of the heaviest snowfall in Japan. To prevent damage from excessive snow accumulation the houses are built with A-shaped roofs.
