My Scholarship entry - Exploring South Korea

Hi, my name is Sam, I am born in Wales and have lived in the South-West of France since I was 4 years old. Living on a farm, I got to grow up with all types of animals like snakes, endangered tortoises, lizards, frogs and whatever I could get my hands on. This obsession for the natural world grew inside me. Watching documentaries on television made this passion expand and made me want to travel the world in search of animals. My mind was set, for the summer after my second university year of Zoology, I would travel for the first time, alone, young, confident and unaware of what layed ahead. I bought a backpack and a NEX 6 and left, nine weeks of the most unforgettable people and experiences. My photography interests kept growing all the way through, owning my first camera for only a week before my departure. Next on my list is a location famous for its culture and biodiversity, such a place would not only benefit me but my passion for animals and travelling in such a way that I cannot explain with words. Peru is a country I have always dreamt about, ancient civilizations, architecture and most of all the natural wonders it offers. Mentored by someone this great would be an unmissable opportunity, if you choose me, you will not regret it.
