My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
China | Thursday, January 10, 2013 | 3 photos
When I was younger, my aspiration was to be an astronaut. Now I realize I just wanted to see and capture what was out there. I carry my camera everywhere. I watch the world through my lens. If I ever leave my camera at home, I go through withdrawals; my arms itch to take pictures. I will climb things or lay in the mud just to get the perfect shot, and I’m not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy experiencing different cultures; not just countries, but even just someone who grew up differently than me; the culture of a university, household, etc. When I’m not in the background capturing pure candid moments, I enjoy being involved with subjects; I’m a personable individual.
By growing up in a professional clowning business, I’ve learned to bring out true personalities in my photos.I am a self-taught photographer; therefore I feel the best thing for me would be a mentor. I always want to learn and improve my photography and field etiquette. I crave learning, and I learn things fast. In the future, I don’t want to sit in a cubicle and do the same things everyday. I want to interact with people. Photography is never the same. It’s so enthralling and exciting to experience different cultures.
