Driving for 12 hours straight through the night got us to Albuquerque. The desert sunrise melted away weariness and wariness; our ride thought it appropriate to tell stories of bodies buried in the desert.

I found freedom in a life on the road. I've lost many things since I left home over a year ago; fear, doubt, and about 10 kilos of luggage I obviously didn't need. I've gained a few things too; friendships, experience, perspective. I've learned to slow down and appreciate the little things; waiting for a ride near Austin, Texas.

Our own version of breakfast tacos. Kale leaves stuffed with banana and almond paste mashed together, and alfalfa sprouts. Don't knock it until you try it. Easy fresh vegan on the road.
