Homeless, Jobless, and Happy

About figgy
I'm Casey -
nicknamed Figgy by my family years ago thanks to the ever popular kid's show Mr. Dress Up (Remember Casey and
Finnegan?).
I turned 30 this
past July, found my first grey hair 2 weeks later and decided that it was time
to pack up and head out while I still had the cardiovascular capacity to climb
Machu Picchu.
I have been able to
travel a few short trips here and there, but now I will officially be without a
permanent address; thanks to loving and supportive (although quietly concerned)
parents, I have a place to direct my mail for the next 9, 10, maybe 12 months.
I've been asked "when will you be back"; I guess I'll wrap up the
trip when I run out of money, get home sick, or tired of worrying about
bed-bugs . . . which ever happens first.
Ultimately, this
whole trip was inspired by one of my best friends. He pointed out to me that I
was in an amazing position - no dependants, a condo in my name that could easily
be sold for a profit, work-related skills that would (hopefully) make getting a
job upon my return to Canada easy to find, and a passport that allowed access
to some of the coolest places on earth.
Time to fly . . .
