My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

As I sat down to to write this essay, I thought what can I say that will convince you that I deserve to do this anymore than the thousands of other applicants? The truth is...I probably don't, but I still have to try.
As a fourty-four year old mother of five, I can not give you a list of photographic experience, or a resume of courses and certificates. All I can give you are my two main reasons for wanting this...
The first being my love of seeing real images that take me on an instantaneous journey. The type of image that takes your breath away and makes you imagine and feel what it would have been like for the photographer in that instant, that spectacular moment. I want to give people that same 'Wow!' moment when they see my images.
The second being me leading my kids by example.
I am always talking to my kids about life being a series of adventures, and encouraging them to follow their passions and live their lives to the fullest. I want them to know that having dreams and making them happen is not just a fairytale regardless of any negativity or doubt from outside sources.
The best way to show them how to follow their own dreams is to have the courage to follow my own.
