I had a dream about a shaman under a waterfall a few years ago and ever since that I have been searching for the most incredible waterfalls. Here in the Southern Pacific region of Costa Rica in the Baru Rainforest I have found a group of mountanins called the Fila de Tinamaste here along a giant mountain ridge that looks down to the pacific in sweeping views of virgin rainforest and ocean in one deep breath is the tallest waterfall in Costa Rica, Diamante Falls an incredible spiritual place where there area caves that are sometimes visited by shamans that take poeple on vision journeys. Then just below these falls before the many waterfalls fall into the Baru river on the way to the famous surfing beaches of Dominical are the waterfalls of Nauyacu. You can hike through the rainforest where incredible birds such as Tucans and Tiger herons and rare animals can be seen... if you are very quite or ride a horse there. I hiked from the Diamante falls following the trail behind the small store in the town of San Salvador...The two tiered waterfall is a giant and the whole day there went so fast, there is a huge pool to swim at the bottom and when all the people on the horses left we had it all to ourselves.
Further down the road I found waterfall villas right next to thier own waterfalls and slept to the sound of the water falling over the rocks down to the pacific and peace filled my soul like never before in all my travels around the world.
