My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Thailand | Thursday, January 10, 2013 | 5 photos

I have always dreamed of travelling the world. As a child growing up in Bangladesh, I was drawn to the amazing photographs in Nat Geo magazines brought home from the second hand bookstore by my father, fuelling my dream of seeing the world. It was a fantasy of mine since I fell in love with Nat Geo that one day I would work for Nat Geo as a photographer.

I love to explore and discover new places and people. The camera is my trusted tool in my explorations. Nothing excites me more than when I have captured a rare moment. My goal is to take meaningful photographs that tell a story.

Until recently being a photographer was just a dream. But I have finally had the courage to quit my job and have decided to dedicate all the little time I've got in this life doing what I love. I studied at a photography college here in Australia for a year but had to discontinue due to financial reasons. Now I am on a quest to improve my craft and educate myself through every available resource.

I believe that I have a unique eye and I am on my way to a better understanding of the art of photography and nothing would help me more than this opportunity to learn from a Nat Geo photographer.
