My Scholarship entry - Vietnams Wildlife Trade Exposed
Vietnam | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos
I have always held a strong passion for wildlife, it is this passion that has drawn me towards photography. I believe capturing an image of my experiences is a way I can send a strong message to people to help conserve our natural world.
When ever I get an opportunity to travel my camera is always draped over my shoulders ready to capture anything and everything. I am a self-taught photographer and would grasp at an opportunity to travel with a professional photographer like Jason Edwards. This would help me immensely improve my skills and gain more confidence with knowing how to frame an image to make it more powerful and captivating.
My goal is to become a photographic journalist, where I can publish conservation stories of any future wildlife research projects that I become involved with. This will allow me to have a major contribution in promoting the protection of wilderness areas that are being destroyed. In many of these places the majority of people are unaware of what is occurring unless a photographic journalist publishes these important stories with the hope to educate and make a difference. This scholarship will strengthen my drive to achieve this.
