My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am Anna Hergert, an explorer at heart. Travel has been a vital part of my life, always seeking active cultural immersion to explore history and nature.
As an artist my life is enriched with travel to teach design. Teaching engagements have taken me half way around the world. My camera is always the first item in the suitcase. I observe the world through the viewfinder almost exclusively. An in-depth photography course with the University of Saskatchewan last summer renewed my enthusiasm and personal commitment to pursue photography in earnest. I am presently completing the MatadorU travel photography.
The primary appeal to be mentored by Jason Edwards is the opportunity to learn through active participation and observation. Critiques of my work will be invaluable - something no book could ever offer! I have a keen desire to hone my photographic skills. Jason’s mentorship, the opportunity to observe and assist him on location, coupled with experiencing key venues across Greenland are exciting prospects. I view complete immersion into the rugged natural environment of rapidly diminishing glaciers, hidden fjords, and Greenland village culture as a once in a lifetime experience.
